AppDynamics PoV Ready Playbook for SAP
This lab’s purpose is to ensure that partner SEs have the right skills and capabilities to prepare an AppDynamics Environment and install the AppDynamics solution to use in a real customer Proof of Value (PoV) centered around advanced observability with SAP systems.
This hands-on lab covers the foundational knowledge you’ll need to deliver an AppDynamics Proof of Value, which is an essential knowledge you’ll need before starting any customer engagement. PoVs are a crucial step in our sales process which enables you to deliver value and allows us to support you.
If you’ve had prior experience doing PoVs, this will help you extend the knowledge around the various components within AppDynamics and allows you to have a running completely monitored SAP environment for future reference and practice.
This lab is designed to be comfortably completed within a 4 week time period. However, it is up to you to decide how long you would like to take to complete it. The 4 week timeframe is only a recommendation. Below is a sample schedule you may choose to follow.
Lab Scenario
The Customer
AD Medical is a large medical supply wholesaler and distributor. They provide more than 200,000 products including personal protective equipment, diagnostic equipment, diabetic supplies, surgical instruments, point-of-care lab testing, advanced wound care, and pharmaceuticals.
The Application
AD Medical uses various modules in their SAP ERP system to run their business, including inventory management, logistics, accounting, customer service, and sales and distribution.
What is the pain?
Due to recent market shortages at the supply chain level for producing PPE and lab testing supplies, AD Medical is anticipating an increase in orders from care providers. They are currently in the planning phase to migrate from on-prem SAP ERP to S/4 HANA but have limited visibility into their current ERP system using Solution Manager.
What is our desired outcome?
The Vice President of Applications (Observability) has tasked her organization with ensuring that all facets of applications within the organization are monitored.
